18.中国的“文化和自然遗产日”是哪一天？国家设立“文化和自然遗产日”有哪些重大意义？

      答：2006年，国务院规定每年 6月的第二个星期六为中国的“文化遗产日”。2017年将名称调整为“文化和自然遗产日”。

国家设立“文化和自然遗产日”的意义：一是切实唤起全社会文化和自然遗产保护的意识，建立并完善国家保护为主、全社会共同参与的新机制；二是推动各级政府切实改善和加强文化和自然遗产保护和传承工作。“文化和自然遗产日”的设立凸显了文化和自然遗产保护事业在国民经济与社会发展中的重要作用，有利于增强全球华人特别是海峡两岸同胞对具有悠久历史的中华文明的认同感，有利于增强民族凝聚力和文化自信，具有很强的现实意义。

Q18. When is China’s Cultural and Natural Heritage Day? What is the significance of it?

Answer: In 2006, China’s State Council promulgated that the second Saturday of June every year would be China’s Cultural Heritage Day, and the name was changed to “Cultural and Natural Heritage Day” in 2017.

The significance of setting up Cultural and Natural Heritage Day is as follows: (a) it can substantially raise the public’s awareness of cultural and natural heritage protection by setting up a new mechanism integrating national protection and social engagement; (b) it can motivate China’s government agencies at all levels to practically optimize and strengthen the protection and inheritance of cultural and natural heritage. Setting up of “Cultural and Natural Heritage Day” highlights the significant role of cultural and natural heritage protection in national economic and social development, helps to enhance the sense of identity on Chinese civilization with long history by all Chinese around the world, particularly by those compatriots living on both sides of Taiwan Strait, and facilitates to strengthen national cohesion and cultural confidence.
